GF machining solutions has been founded in 1861 by Georg Fischer. Today the company has nearly 3000 employees, 50 sites around the world and is the reference for EDM machines in the world.

The “Ateliers des Charmilles” produced machines for nearly a century, until 1952, when it started with the research and development of EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) for industrial applications. With the Agie (AG for Industrial Electronics) establishment in Basel in Switzerland, in the middle of the 50s, Charmilles has a partner company with who he presents first die-sinking EDM machines. Agie and Charmilles become leaders in the market.
